The National Debt--Time to Collect?

Students discuss money they may receive from their parents for birthdays, holidays, allowance or from working. They pretend to have received $20.00 and must allocate funds to buy specified items. Students further pretend that their income will be reduced by 10%. They re-calculate their original budget. Students research the national debt and possible ways to pay it off. They write individual proposals for balancing the budget.

Anita F.
For those topics that are not covered fully in the student textbook, Lesson Planet is a fantastic tool to find materials to complement the text and provide both additional instruction and reinforcement to the learning process.
