The War Between the States

Middle schoolers analyze the causes and effects of the Civil War. They compare and contrast the different interpretations of state and federal authority. Using maps, they locate the states who were on the side of the North and the South. They examine Lincoln's presidency and what actions he took to diffuse and control the situation. They analyze the major battles and turning points of the war.
