Tracing Geometric Shapes and Their Names
What shape is this? Young mathematicians learn their shapes by tracing in this 4-part exercise. The shapes include a triangle, rectangle, square, and diamond. Each shape is outlined with a dotted line, as is its name below it. Students trace both the shape and name to practice name-shape recognition, as well as fine motor and handwriting skills. Consider offering a challenge by having class members cut out the shapes and tape them to things around the room with a similar shape.
