What types of things come in pairs? In this doubling lesson, learners think-pair-share items that are doubles, and then observe the corresponding number sentence. Show them several photographs of things that are doubles, and have learners describe the photographs using number sentences and pictures (worksheet provided). Another practice activity is included, in which learners complete dominos with a double and record the number sentence. Follow-up activities using manipulatives are also included.
