Using Hormones to Control Plant Development
Students investigate hormones that control plant development. In this plant hormone lesson plan, students use a type of hormone called auxins to identify the location of meristems. These can be forced to form roots on a leaf and stem cutting in order for growth. Students hypothesize about meristem location and come up with an experimental plan. They treat their plants and gather data 1 and 2 weeks later to draw their conclusions.
