Using Radiosonde Data From a Weather Balloon Launch

Students interpret radiosonde data from a weather balloon launch to distinguish the characteristics of the lower atmosphere. After a brief discussion of the various layers of the atmosphere, students analyze the way pressure and temperature change with a change in altitude. Students collect atmosphere data and create a graph.

When plans are needed, and time is short, I begin here for help from my colleagues. The framework of lessons, excellent worksheets, and multimedia presentations has proved extremely helpful.
