Whale Tails and Fingerprints

Students discover how whale tail markings are similar to human figerprints. They create individual, patterned, humpback flukes out of white paper and discuss how each student's creation is different from the rest. Finally, they view photos of humpback whales in the wild and draw conclusions about the whale's life based on what they observe in the picture.
