What on Earth Is in the Earth?

Students examine and identify the living and non-living elements in soil. Using a sorting sheet, they examine containers of soil that include rocks leaves, dead insects,and trash, among other items. In pairs, students record their findings by drawing pictures and using words to describe the objects.
