Culture and Society of the Gilded Age

Students analyze the culture of high society during the Gilded Age and create dialogues, monologues, or short plays. In this gilded age lesson, students choose a character from a chosen area of the Gilded Age and research what might happen in one day of that person's life. Students also research romance and etiquette and present their character in a theatrical piece such as a monologue, short play, or small scene. Students may work in groups.
