Students study the concept of fraction using mathematical reasoning. In this problem solving fraction lesson plan, students use various methods to explain their reasoning in solving fractions. Students use a number of different prompts to determine the value of a hexagon, triangle, and trapezoid. Students also discuss with a partner how many ingredients are found in a trail mix and the fractions are as described in the lesson plan.
