Blueprints are used to help architects plan out their drawings in an accurate and measurable way. Little ones create a grid with white crayon, dip the paper in blue paint, and then draw a series of buildings. However, it may be better to have them use a ruler to draw straight lines 1 by 1 inch so they get a better understanding of measurement and how architects actually use blueprints. Note: Artistic expression is wonderful, artistic expression that connects to content is even better!
