Students study images and specimens of flowers before labeling the sepals, petals, carpels/pistils, and the stamens. They determine the function of each part. Using colored pencils, they design a drawing the different flower parts using techniques to some texture, tint, and depth. Finally, they fill the background of their drawing with color while determining how different colors impact the drawing.
