Students identify diseases that plagued the pioneers and find preventative measures to avoid them.  In this Oregon Trail instructional activity, students brainstorm possible health problems and diseases for pioneers. They then research a particular disease to find out the effects of the disease, the remedy and/or prevention, all findings will be presented to the class.
