Identifying Sounds in Words with Elkonin Boxes

Students examine words. In this letter sounds instructional activity, students use Elkonin boxes to identify the beginning, medial, or final sound of a word. They work in small groups with picture cards and an instruction of where to put a marker in their Elkonin box, based on the sound that is identified.
