Many of your youngsters have experienced a new baby coming home, and Marc Brown's story Arthur's Baby is a relatable way to cover some new vocabulary terms. Introduce and define the new words before reading the text aloud: adorable, advice, germs, squeal, and triple. As you read, kids listen for the words, raising their hands when they hear one. There are comprehension questions for each of these words to get scholars making connections to familiar concepts; decide whether you will complete these during, before, or after the reading.
