Third graders add and subtract decimals.  In this third grade mathematics lesson, 3rd graders are given an imaginary $100 to purchase five Beanie Babies.  Students determine which five they would like to purchase and estimate the costs.  Students add to find the actual cost and find the difference between the actual cost and their estimate to determine if they have any money left over or need additional money to complete their purchase.
