High schoolers investigate inhalation and exhalation of the respiratory system. They construct a model of the respiratory system using balloons, straws, cups, and rubber bands. Then, they observe inhalation and exhalation and measure the volume of air exhaled. The lesson concludes with learners answer 11 follow-up questions that require them to document the results of their experiment.
