This is a really neat idea! To practice line variation and hatching, young artists create masking tape murals. They brainstorm a list of hot high school topics, then they get into small groups and begin sketching. Once they have their plan they "stick it" to a large wall in the school. The result will be a pop art, street-inspired line drawing that addresses topics important to the student. Tip: Have the kids research other artists that create larger-than-life images using little more than lines and a concept.
