Solving Word Problems Involving Time

Time-tellers decipher word problems and learn how to work through elapsed time. They are given different scenarios for which they must figure out how much time has passed. This lesson also includes an assessment. Note that one of the teaching examples involves going to church and that in several instances, a proper noun is not capitalized as it should be. Since this is for teachers' eyes only, the lesson is quite useful regardless.

One-Step Word Problems Involving Time Measure

Fourth graders review skills needed to solve time problems.  In this time measure lesson, 4th graders solve problems of elapsed time. Students follow the steps to solve and then complete problems.

Got the Time? (Math Word Problems)

Upper graders work with peers to solve word problems related to time and independently solve word problems that involve calculating time. They will show their ability to solve and work through mathematical operations. A worksheet is provided in addition to a well-written teacher's guide.

Alphabetizing Words Beginning with I and J

Real-Life Problems: Time

Pupils listen to explanation of how to put words beginning with "A" and "B" in alphabetical order observing examples. They then complete the worksheet to work on the skill independently.
