They progress to considering how an outlier's inclusion will affect the data set and learn how to create box plots. Also, they learn how to determine the interquartile range and interpret the value in terms of the situation. Scholars also learn to compare data distributions by considering the shape of the distributions, identify outliers, and compare the center and spread of the data. The unit review asks individuals to demonstrate what they have learned about problems covering concepts on one-variable statistics. They create and interpret box plots and stem-and-leaf plots, determine the mean, median, mode, interquartile range, and standard deviation of data sets before comparing distributions using the shape, center, and spread.
