Climate Change in My Backyard: Grades 7-9, Unit 3

Living things and ecosystems respond to and are affected by climate change. In this collection of four lessons, students learn about how researchers—now and in the past—have used plant lifecycle events to understand climate. Pupils participate in Budburst, a national science project, in which they study plant migration, seed dispersal, and make predictions about whether plants will be able to keep up with climate change. A handy pretest lets you know what class members already know.
