Cisco’s animated series, Global Problem Solvers, teaches viewers about social responsibility and teamwork. The two-season series follows a diverse group of talented teenagers who combine their unique individual skills and cooperate to take on some of the world’s toughest challenges. The series teaches young people the 21st century skills they need to become future social entrepreneurs. The first season shows the master problem-solving team overcoming the obstacles of fixing aging water wells and rectifying the critical water shortage that jeopardizes the village of Malawi. In the second season the group formulates a plan to restore electricity and Internet service to hurricane ravaged Tampa, Florida and to find a solution for displaced pupils and teachers. Each episode includes a free teacher’s guide as well as suggestions for long-term projects classes can take on to become real-life problem solvers.
