Students plan a driving route that includes directions, route number, and landmarks. They present their directions to a simple well-know tune such as; Jingle Bells, Baa-Baa Black sheep, etc.

Students listen, clap, compose and identify various rhythms.  In this rhythm lesson, students practice rhythm with rhythm cards.  Students become familiar with stick notation. Students glue Popsicle sticks to illustrate rhythms.

Students complete a year-long unit for poetry and songs. In this poetry and songs lesson, students complete nine lessons for animal songs and animal poetry to improve their understanding of rhyme, rhythm, and poetry.
