Students consider the history and significance of the Judao-Christian culture through this nine lesson unit. Scenes from the Old and New Testaments are reenacted as students unearth some of the foundations of our Western Culture.

Students explore the actions of people involved in the Civil Rights Movement. They explore the reasons for the movement and its successes and failures, and explain the sacrifices made by those who participated in the movement.

Students examine Chinese folktales. In this literature and philanthropy lesson, students read Chinese folktales and analyze their literary elements. Students consider the effects of generosity in the tales and in their own lives.

Students discuss and illustrate concepts of selflessness and selfishness. They identify any act of selflessness in a performed story. They also list examples of acts of selflessness that can improve the quality of life.
