Fourth graders explore the definition and properties of parallel lines. This high level instructional activity has students calculate the slope of the two parallel lines, and draw the lines on a Caretsian coordinate system.

Young scholars use graphing calculators to graph lines and create tables of values. They perform an experiment using M&M's and slinkys, then create their tables based on their results.
