Students examine genetic inheritance patterns and pedigrees. After discussing sex-linked genes, students use pedigrees to determine the genotypes of parents in the P1 generation. They complete worksheets and disuss the results.

High schoolers use this following the study of pedigree designs and human genetics. Four pedigree designs are prepared of your (student's) family's genetics. They construct the pedigree representing two, three, or four generations.

Students create a family pedigree, relate the laws of inheritance to a family pedigree, and determine certain phenotypes and corresponding genotypes of members in their family.
