Students experience work and power and observe the process of entropy. In this physics lesson, students conduct an experiment that shows work (force & distance), power (work/time), and exemplifies the process of entropy.

First graders measure weight and capacity. In this measurement lesson, 1st graders explore visual examples of weight and capacity comparisons. Students also practice solving problems that their instructors model.

  Young scholars build boats out of clay to test the buoyancy of the boat in water.  Students break into pairs and construct their boat to specific guide lines, then experiment with their boat in the water.   

Learners discover that density is considered a property and that cutting an object in half does not affect its density. They examine the densities of many common substances and make connections.
