Students create representative Sakura trees. In this multi-cultural appreciation instructional activity, students listen to their teacher talk about Japan before students create Sakura trees out of cotton balls and popsicle sticks.

Pupils explore the symbolism of flowers and trees in Chinese and Japanese art. This lesson meets state standards and includes two possible lesson extensions or lesson enrichments.
