Tongue Twisters
Second graders read the poem, "Betty Botter" and give their opinion of it. They discover what a tongue twister is and read the poem out loud together. Then as a class they read "Peter Piper" and discuss the similarities of the two poems.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Students read "Green Eggs and Ham" in celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday and visit a storymaker website. Students create and type a three scene story using characters from Dr. Seuss's books and share their story with the class.
