Schwa says /uh/ and it is in so many multi-syllable words. It is the most common vowel sound. When vowels don't make their short or long sound, kids need to know that the schwa sound is a possibility.

This gives practice reading multisyllabic words with consonant + le syllables, along with many hopefully prior learned syllables. This helps kids break apart words to read and spell longer words.
