Students create African Personal Power Figure boxes describing how they view themselves and discuss what personal traits are important to the preservation and improvement of a civilization.

Young scholars identify four different African cloth design styles and associate them with the cultures examined in this activity. The activity also includes a creative project where each student creates their own cloth design.
