In this Guinea Pig themed instructional activity, students hear the story, Guinea Pigs Add UP! and then engage in several themed learning activities. Each activity fosters skills in letter/number recognition, art, math or writing.  

Students define what a pet is and what it needs to be healthy and happy. They explore pets through the use of of puppets and/or stuffed animals and discover what a pet needs by identifying items in a "pet bag."

This site describes several common guinea pig foods, including hay, pellets, fruits, and vegetables. It also covers a guinea pig's need for Vitamin C, along with treats they enjoy.
