  • Use one of these questions each day to get your class started; go straight through the list, or pick and choose questions that apply to your unit of study
  • Encourage students to write down their responses, share responses with partners or small groups, and then the whole class
  • Come up with corresponding sentence frames to help pupils formulate their responses when writing and speaking

  • See the materials for an accompanying presentation and an additional reference material for ELD teachers; note that some of the questions included in the presentation relate more to adults learning English
