A Midsummer Night's Dream

You might not be able to put a girdle around the earth in forty minutes but you can generate interest in A Midsummer’s Night Dream in that length of time. As an introduction to Shakespeare’s comedy, pairs of students assume the roles of Puck and Oberon and read their lines from one scene in the play. The discussion that follows this introductory exercise focuses attention on predictions about the events in the drama. A list of suggested scenes is not included; but, if we shadows have offended/Think but this, and all is mended.
