A Research Project: A Discussion of the Recreating and Populating of a Colonial Village

Primary source research, secondary source readings, and discussion provide the understanding necessary for students to create a colonial persona, and simulate a situation appropriate for this person, time, and place. While the lesson focuses on Deerfield, Massachusetts, it can be adapted to other colonial settlements. There is no assessment or rubric included; it suggests learners create one collaboratively.

Sabrina F.
I have been able to find a variety of resources to meet a variety of needs. As a special ed teacher I need to continually find new ways of presenting the material and Lesson Planet always has many great ideas that have worked wonderfully in my classroom. It's especially great when I need to make a last minute change to a lesson!
