About Life: The Photographs of Dorothea Lange

Students use art to analyze a period in history. In this lesson plan about the effect of art on history, students study many different pieces of photography by Dorothea Lange. Students will observe photographs from certain time periods and relate them back to events in history such as the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and World War I. Starting a new program means developing new lesson plans. I was surprised to see hundreds of lesson plans already created for my classroom subject. This gives me the inspiration I need to create my own. Many great ideas - a gold mine.
