Examine two works of art and use these pieces as inspiration for dialogues. The whole class discusses Renoir's Lunch at the Restaurant Fournaise and Toulouse-Lautrec's At the Moulin Rouge. Then, in groups of either three or ten, pupils come up with and perform scenes that go along with the paintings.
- You may need to scaffold the plan more fully for younger learners
- Combines art analysis and language arts in an interesting way
- It will likely be difficult for students to work in groups of ten for the At the Moulin Rouge adaptation
