Action Painting on a SMARTboard

Students learn about Jackson Pollock, an artist famous for "action painting," and his works in order to become familiar with his artistic style. In this art lesson, students view Pollock's pieces, then watch a slideshow and video segment about his life. Students experiment with Pollock's style of art by creating their own work of art on the smart board computer screen.

Lesson Planet helps me search from such a large variety of creative and innovative teaching ideas from dedicated teachers. I am always looking for ideas to better teach my students and solicit the help of others in the education field. Many of the lessons guide students from concrete to abstract learning. Keep up the great work!
