Observing the Moon

The Moon, in particular, has had several names given to it by the many cultures which did and still inhabit the Earth. It was seen by the Greeks as Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, perhaps a reference to the pre-Greek pantheon nocturnal hunting customs.
