Fact families are an excellent way to connect math operations for beginners to addition and subtraction. Use the examples here to review this concept before scholars try these on their own. For each, they examine two related number sentences and circle one of the three following equations to indicate it is related. There are six of these followed by a more challenging exercise which has pupils use three numbers to write the four equations that make up their fact family. They complete three of these, writing a total of 12 number sentences.
