Airplane Mathematics

The history of aerodynamics is rich with experimentation and international collaboration. Author Joyce Bryant relays this dynamic past and provides math word problems using the formula of lift, the force that makes airplanes fly. She suggests; to fly a kite, release a toy balloon, or place strips of paper in a fan to provide tangible demonstrations of the force of air molecules in understanding lift. Diagrams are not included.

I teach a variety of subjects and ages depending on what block of the day. Generally, when I do not have time to brainstorm on my own or just need to find a quick worksheet LessonPlanet comes to the rescue. Excellent variety of math activities and worksheets for my grade 3 to 6 class. In addition, I've found countless activities for my social studies 10 class as well as my English 7 to 9 class. Honestly, I would recommend this site to all teachers.
