Learners study society's needs and altruism within communities. In this altruism lesson, students identify and categorize the basic needs that human beings have and define altruism. Learners complete research on altruistic organizations and individuals as well as interview guest speakers about the way they serve those in need, Students then plan and complete a community service project.
