Students identify the functions of various body parts. They participate in the "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" song, draw a picture of themselves and other mammals, and create a traced outline of their body that they add features to. Possible extension activities include reading Shel Silverstein's poem "The Planet of Mars" and illustrating it or comparing and contrasting animal body parts to their own. Rich with activities that introduce body parts, this is a valuable resource.
