Areas Under Curves: An Astronomical Perspective

In this area under the curve activity, students use a graph of the number of exoplanets discovered and the year they were discovered to solve 5 problems. Students find the total area under the curve, they find the total number of planets detected, and they interpret given data in terms of N which represents the number of planets detected during a specific time frame.
