Youngsters write a story together with the help of their teacher. Use this language arts lesson to give your kids a chance to feel like real authors. Begin with the sentence, "Once upon a time, we went to school and found an elephant waiting for us in the classroom." Everyone expands on that initial idea to come up with a story. Each child contributes a picture as well. This lesson is based on the Arthur episode, "Arthur Writes a Story."
