For this science instructional activity, learners collaborate in performing an investigation regarding the best bridge construction for maximum strength. Students build several designs of bridges out of pins, straws, fishing line, and small Styrofoam trays. Learners begin with the basic design, then may try the more complicated beam and arch designs. There are good directions and drawings to help.
