To gain an understanding of color mixing theory and the color wheel, young artists draw a picture, mix up a batch of secondary colors to which they add dish soap, and using straws, bubble up the paint. They then press their drawings onto the bubble paint, and voila! Bubble Art!
- Have learners practice blowing bubbles in a glass of water or milk before using the paint-filled cups to prevent accidental paint drinking
- While the video features a sea theme, the activity may be attached to any unit or study
- The three-page packet includes an overview of the activity, a materials list, step-by-step directions, images, and a link to a video demonstrating how to create bubble paint
