Characterizing Drosophila Mutants

Students investigate wild-type and several mutant varieties of Drosophila melanogaster, which are characterized and distinguished according to pteridine pigments. They discoverthat paper chromatography of the wild-type Drosophila results in the separation of seven pteridines.
