Children's Book Creations

Learners create a children's book version of the Japanese folk story "Momotaro Boy of the Peach" and present the story to elementary students. In this children's book lesson, learners design their book to explain Japanese culture to American children. After meeting the elementary children, students survey teachers on children's books. Learners then redesign traditional teaching aids to better implement the telling of the story.

Carol G.
I just transferred mid-year to an art teacher position; it has been more than 15 years since I taught art. I needed some quick ideas to get started. Thank you Lesson Planet!
