Ck 12: Analysis: One to One Functions and Their Inverses

Save the time creating an assessment because these function problems should do the trick. With 10 multi-part questions, they each focus on a different topic including radical, polynomial, linear and piecewise functions. The majority of...

Undo a function to create a new one. The inverse of a function does just that. An inquiry-based lesson examines the result of reversing the variables of a function, beginning with linear patterns and advancing to quadratic and...

We add numbers, so why not functions? A math video explains the process of combining functions using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The instructor then finds the domain for each new function.

We look at several examples of functions and see their domain. Sal writes the domain in set notion and shows how different functions can have different input values that cause the function to be undefined.

The finer points of telling the difference between cumulative and frequency histograms are laid out with clear examples for how to get from one to the other. From defining vocabulary through converting charted data to histogram form,...

What do musicians and mathematicians have in common? Compositions! Learners review function composition in the previous video in a series of 29, and expand that review to include the domain of the composition. The instructor uses...

Though Sal expects viewers to be "reasonably familiar" with square roots, he takes this opportunity to explain some of the notation and how to graph square root functions. He uses a graphing calculator from my.hrw.com/math06 to...

Deal with an equation that is not all whole. Pupils watch as the short video shows solving two one-step equations containing decimals. One equation involves addition and the other subtraction. As with whole numbers, the decimal equations...

Determine critical points in the flight of a soccer ball. Pupils use an interactive resource to find the vertex and x-intercepts of the graph of the trajectory of a soccer ball after being kicked. Scholars investigate the trajectory...
